Starbucks is everywhere! And Seoul is not an exception. You can see loads of 'STARBUCKS' signs everywhere in Seoul. But only in 인사동 (Insadong), you will see this Starbucks sign written in the Korean alphabet (Hangeul) that says 스타벅스 커피. You might find this a bit awkward at first, but once you've spent some time walking along the street full of antiques and traditional stuff, you will realize that this 스타벅스 커피 sign in 한글 is much less out-of-place than the original English sign.

when i saw that sign for the first time
ReplyDeletei was impressive.
if that sign was written in English
that would be rather more out-of-place
인사동 스타벅스의 (Star Box!?) SIGN이 왜 한글로 쓰였어요?
ReplyDeletei read on somewhere on the net that this starbucks in Insadong is the only starbucks in the world that doesn't hold the starbucks sign and where the name is written in another language other then english ^^
ReplyDeletei've been to insadong in seoul last year but didn't get to see this shop :s
