Jong-ro, a great place for you if you love walking around

I love 종로 (Jong-ro or Jong-no) for many reasons, but especially there are a lot of different (types 0f) places that you can visit just by walking around, unlike in 강남 (Gang-nam) or some other downtown areas in Seoul. 종로 is basically a long avenue that stretches all the way from the 시청 (City Hall) to 동대문 (Dongdaemun), the avenue is devided into 6 main sections, which are called 종로 1가, 2가, 3가, 4가, 5가, and 6가. From any of these 종로's sections, you can easily walk to 청계천(Check the post "Let's go for a walk"), and if you're in 종로 5가, you can walk to 대학로 (Daehak-ro) within 30 minutes, and if you're in 종로 3가, you can walk to 인사동(Insadong) and from there, you can walk up to 삼청동 (Samcheongdong) as well. All of these other places have very interesting shops and restaurants (and art galleries and theatres as well), of which I'll be posting pictures and introductions of on this blog in the future. One other area in Seoul that is good for those who love walking is the 신촌(Shinchon)-홍대(Hongdae)-이대(Ehwa Women's University) area, but I'll talk about that in a later posting.

I'm planning a 3-hour walk with my friends throughout 종로 in March 2009, so I'll be posting pictures and videos from 종로 soon!

  3. Is this picture taken somewhere between Honje and Dongdaemun subway stations? It almost looks the same as when I take the bus back to my university from my aunt's - except for the traffic isn't going toward me, haha :D I'm going to be sad that my semester in Korea is almost finished and I won't see this wonderful city for at least another year. Thanks for the awesome photo/vid blog ^-^
